The couple in the Fiesta live in Narborough and had recently spent several hundred pounds on the door sills and given it a good waxing over the week end. They were proud of their car, one of the last of the Mk2 Fiestas to come off the production line.

The couple were on their way to the butchers in Gayton before setting out on a long journey to relatives in Portsmouth. They feared that the damage would mean that their much loved car would be written off by the insurance company.
