A small, silver hatchback or estate car, probably Japanese, was forced to swerve to the left as the minibus, with wheels skidding, crossed its path.

Although difficult to make out in this picture, the dark mark on the road surface in the foreground, is that of the silver car's tyre. The clear impression of its tread indicates that the wheel was turning as it mounted the kerb.

Witnesses report that there was some damage to the wheel of the car. However, it is hard to believe that there wasn't further damage to the car given the two marks on the edge of the kerb stones. Whatever the damage, after a brief stop in the lay-by beyond the driver carried on his journey.
