The Vectra, driven by a man, also had a woman and young baby on board. When the Ambulance left, travelling towards Gayton, it had the woman and baby on board and was followed by the the man in the Vectra.

The Escort's skid mark can be seen terminating at a point in line with the deepest dent in the bumper of the car. The fluid spilled on the road at this point appears to be from the Escort's radiator.

The skid mark shows as one continuous line that moves towards the centre of the road. At the point of impact the Escort was straddling the centre of the road and was moved soon after the impact to allow traffic to pass.

Whatever the reason for the Vectra stopping at this point, it proves the truth of the risk mentioned when the site was created.
