East Walton - Footpath

There were two problems for pedestrains in the village. The first is now solved.

Until November 2005 the footpath between the Church Lane junction and the Village Green was almost unusable. Wheelchair users were forced to use the road. (Not a theoretical complaint! A wheelchair user lives on the Common and her daughter in Church Lane!) Not only that, there used to be a telephone kiosk sited so that pedestrians were forced into the road.

The left turn into East Winch Road can be taken at full speed. Those attempting to cross the road between the Post Office and the Village Green, and those parking their cars to visit the Post Office, take their lives in their hands. Many drivers simply do not consider the possibility of a pedestrain on the road round this blind bend.
